Hazard: If the switch does not illuminate brake lights, other drivers may not know that the vehicle is slowing. If the brake light switch does not cancel cruise control, the vehicle may unexpectedly maintain its speed. Either condition can increase the risk of a crash.

Hazard: THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, IF THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM IS DISABLED, A VEHICLE CRASH COULD OCCUR, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
