The fax machines may incur a mechanical malfunction, posing a shock hazard to users.

Consumers should stop using the fax machines immediately, unplug the unit, and contact the company for a free repair.

Oki Data has not received any reports of incidents. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries.

Description

The recalled fax machines include the OKIFAX® 5780, 5980, 5980DL models, and Konica 9880 model (manufactured by Oki Data Americas Inc.), with serial numbers beginning with 3110A, 311A, 312A, 401A and 402A. The model number is found on the top right hand side on the front of the unit and the serial numbers can be found on the back of the unit, bottom of case, centered, on the black and white bar code label.

Consumers should stop using the fax machines immediately, unplug the unit, and contact the company for a free repair.
