Hazard
A helmet that does not adequately protect the wearer from an impact can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Remedy
HCI will notify owners, and will provide replacement helmets or give the consumer a credit for a replacement helmet, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in August 2019. Owners may contact Helmet City customer service at 1-888-550-3731.

Description

Darsan Trading Co. (Darsan), dba as Helmet City, is recalling certain HCI 100 matt black motorcycle helmets in size XL. These helmets may not adequately protect the wearer in the event of a head impact during a motorcycle crash. Additionally, the helmets do not list the month and year of manufacturer. As such, these equipment fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets."

What to do

HCI will notify owners, and will provide replacement helmets or give the consumer a credit for a replacement helmet, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in August 2019. Owners may contact Helmet City customer service at 1-888-550-3731.
