Product Recalls in 2022

Hazard: The internal part in the valve can malfunction while in use, causing loss of inflation and thermal protection, posing a risk of hypothermia to the consumer.

Hazard: The products are dietary supplements containing iron which must be in child-resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The packaging of the products is not child-resistant, posing a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.

Hazard: The wall beds can detach from the wall and fall onto those nearby, posing serious impact and crush hazards.

Hazard: The product contains sodium hydroxide which must be in child resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The packaging of the products is not child resistant, posing a risk of chemical burns and irritation to the skin and eyes. In addition, the label on the product violates the Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA) by omitting the mandatory information on the packaging.

Hazard: The white plastic seat can break, posing fall and injury hazards to children.

Hazard: The lithium-ion battery can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Hazard: The alarms can fail to alert consumers to the presence of a hazardous level of carbon monoxide, posing a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning or death. Carbon monoxide (CO) is an odorless, colorless, poisonous gas.

Hazard: When two or more high-powered magnets are swallowed, either intentionally by younger children or accidentally by older children, the ingested magnets can attract to each other, or to another metal object, and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting and/or blockage of the intestines, infection, blood poisoning and death.

Hazard: Federal regulations require bicycles with seat heights that measure at or below 25 inches to be equipped with foot brakes. These bicycles are equipped only with hand brakes and can pose a crash hazard or a risk of injury to young children who might not be able to stop the bicycles using handbrakes only.

Hazard: The ATVs fail to comply with the requirements of the federal mandatory ATV safety standard. The B125 ATVs exceed the maximum speed limitations for vehicles intended for children aged 10 and older. For the Madix 110, the parking brakes do not prevent the movement of the vehicle. In addition, the handlebars on both ATVs pose a laceration hazard should the rider's body or head impact the handlebars at a high rate of speed such as in a crash. ATVs that fail to meet the mandatory safety requirements pose a risk of serious injury or death.

Hazard: The bicycle helmets do not comply with the positional stability and retention system requirements of the U.S. CPSC federal safety standard for bicycle helmets. The helmets can fail to protect in the event of a crash, posing a risk of head injury.

Hazard: The recalled helmets do not comply with the U.S. CPSC federal safety standard for bicycle helmets, posing a risk of head injury in a fall.

Hazard: The water immersion heater can overheat, melt or catch fire, posing shock, electrocution and fire hazards.

Hazard: The recalled over-the-counter products contain regulated substances (aspirin, acetaminophen, or ibuprofen) which must be in child resistant packaging when being used in the household as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The packaging of the products is not child resistant, posing a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.

Hazard: Bottles labeled as Shop Pro RV & Marine Antifreeze were improperly filled with a product containing methanol. These improperly filled bottles do not have the mandatory cautionary label for products containing methanol warnings, including that the vapors are harmful and the product can be fatal or cause blindness if swallowed. Also, the directions on the bottle for properly flushing a potable water system can fail to adequately remove the methanol, presenting a risk of ingestion. Products containing methanol pose a poisoning hazard through inhalation or if ingested.

Hazard: The wheels and wheel attachment hardware can detach from the walker in small pieces, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Hazard: There are loose components in the mirror's bulb sockets, which can lead to overcurrent and overheating, posing fire and shock hazards.

Hazard: The crank arm can disengage and cause the bicycle's rider to lose control, posing fall and injury hazards.

Hazard: When opened for the first time, pressure build up in the bottle can cause the cap and underlying seal to pop off with force, posing an injury hazard.

Hazard: The vehicle's intake funnel band screw can loosen and enter the engine through the intake funnel and cause sudden engine failure. If this occurs, it could result in a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Hazard: The maracas can break or become unscrewed and release the metal beads inside, posing choking and suffocation hazards to young children.

Hazard: The flashlights can be turned on inadvertently and overheat while stored in the holster or a consumer's pocket, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

Hazard: The ranges can tip over when a heavy weight is placed on an open oven door and the anti-tip-over bracket is not secured to the wall or floor, posing a tip-over hazard and risk of burn injuries from hot food or liquids in cookware.

Hazard: Fuel can leak from the fuel tank vent onto hot components when the snowmobiles are on a tilt or flipped over, posing a fire hazard.

Hazard: The user's rope can get caught or wedged in the PIRANA blocking slot and stop or suspend the climber, posing a drowning risk if they are under a waterfall or pool.

Hazard: Surface paint on the brown bell found in "Day 10" of the advent calendar contains levels of lead that exceed the federal lead paint ban, posing a risk of lead poisoning. Excessive levels of lead can be toxic or cause other health problems to young children if the paint is ingested.
