Product Recalls in 2023

Hazard: The recalled 5mm magnetic ball sets do not comply with the requirements of the mandatory federal magnet regulation because the sets contain one or more magnets that fit within CPSC's small parts cylinder, and the magnets are stronger than permitted. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract each other, or another metal object, and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting and/or blockage of the intestines, infection, blood poisoning, and death.

Hazard: The lithium battery in the electric start system can overheat, posing a burn hazard.

Hazard: The recalled blenders can overheat or catch fire and the blender blades can break off, posing fire and laceration hazards to consumers.

Hazard: All the dress-up playsets and the slime eggs contain levels of certain phthalates that exceed the federal phthalate standard. In addition, the Litti City teacher purse dress-up playset, the Litti Pritti handbag playset, and the slime eggs contain levels of lead that exceed the federal lead content ban. Lead and phthalates are toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

Hazard: The window's sash can detach from the frame and fall, posing an injury hazard to consumers.

Hazard: The wooden frame of the chair can break or collapse when a consumer is seated in the chair, posing a fall hazard.

Hazard: The top and bottom of the internal inverter boards of the power stations can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.

Hazard: Testing determined the safety harness does not comply with voluntary industry safety standard, ASTM F2337-21, and the stitching can rip, posing a fall hazard to the user.

Hazard: The recalled hoverboard's lithium-ion battery can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Hazard: The high chairs pose a suffocation risk because they were marketed, intended, or designed for infant sleep, and they have an incline angle greater than 10 degrees in violation of the CPSC's Infant Sleep Products Rule and the Safe Sleep for Babies Act. In addition, the high chairs pose finger laceration and entrapment hazards as they failed to meet mandatory requirements under the high chair standard.

Hazard: Components of the steering shaft/steering system could have been improperly assembled which can lead to loss of control, posing crash and collision hazards.

Hazard: The operator's guide maintenance schedule section contains incorrect information regarding proper maintenance intervals for the clutch which can lead to clutch failure, including fragments to be ejected from the vehicle if not serviced, posing a risk of serious injuries.

Hazard: The saddle's rivet or stirrup bar can break, causing the rider to fall, posing an injury hazard.

Hazard: The burner control knob can be incorrectly labeled, which can result in the grill being unintentionally left on, posing a fire hazard.

Hazard: Some Griffin Duo Bunk Beds failed to be properly assembled by Room & Board with set screws installed into the side rail brackets at the time of delivery. Brackets lacking set screws can create a collapse risk, and fall and injury hazards.

Hazard: The recalled quilted cotton mattress pads fail to meet the mandatory federal flammability standard for mattress pads, posing a fire hazard.

Hazard: The steering system can lock up while in use, posing a crash hazard and risk of serious injury to children.

Hazard: Pressing the brake and throttle pedals simultaneously can deactivate the throttle. If the brake is then released, the vehicle can move and the throttle can still be deactivated, posing a crash hazard and risk of serious injury.

Hazard: The plastic U-Channel connector used to optionally combine the two food baskets inside of the air fryers can break during use, posing a burn hazard.

Hazard: The power cord can become damaged near the cord bushing, which can lead to overheating of the cord, posing fire and burn hazards. In addition, cord damage near the bushing can result in exposed copper wires, posing a shock hazard.

Hazard: The bulbs can overheat when the string lights are plugged directly into an outlet, presenting burn and fire hazards.

Hazard: The recalled mattresses violate multiple provisions of the federal safety regulation for crib mattresses, including the thickness test and missing warnings and labels. The product poses a suffocation hazard to infants.

Hazard: In "parent-facing" mode, the backrest of the seat can move downward, placing the infant in a negative recline. In this situation, an unrestrained infant could tumble from the seat, posing an injury hazard.

Hazard: The recalled mattresses violate multiple provisions of the federal safety regulation for crib mattresses, including the firmness and thickness tests, and are missing warnings and labels. The product poses a suffocation hazard to infants.

Hazard: The wire tool attachment can break when dropped while tethered to a tool exceeding two pounds, posing an injury hazard to bystanders.

Hazard: The ignition coil can fail to ignite one of the engine cylinders, allowing uncombusted fuel to enter the exhaust pipe where it could ignite, posing a fire hazard.

Hazard: The bottom portion of the recalled baby rattles can detach, posing choking and/or ingestion hazards.

Hazard: The outer case or cabinet on the front, or smaller side, of the Xtrabed can break and fall when opening the bed from the front, posing an injury hazard. Further, the Xtrabed can tip over if not anchored to the wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards.

Hazard: The hose end nozzle clip can dislodge and allow the cleaning solution to spray on users, posing a risk of skin and eye irritation and other injuries.
